Document Summary

True/false, muliple choice, short answer and long answer (diagramming & truth table) Chapter 5 faulty reasoning and chapter 7 proposiional logic and diagramming arguments. Use them as a tool to assess arguments (deducive) for validity. If an argument has two variables, then you need four rows to show all the combinaions. Two variables, each variable can have a true or false. Four variables (2 x 2 x 2 x 2) = 16. First half of guide column have irst half be true, second half be false. One column comes ater for each premise followed by the conclusion. Each variable (x, y, z) and then the columns for the premises. Looking for a row, where premises are true and the conclusion false meaning the argument is invalid, if this row doesn"t exist it is valid. Disjuncion: if one of them is true, then the whole thing is true. When both the disjuncts are false, as a whole, it is false.
