Ex: cardiac physiology is the study of the heart function. Pathological effects of diseases on organ or organ systems. Atoms are the smallest stable units of matter while cells are the smallest living units in the body. Adjustment of body systems to preserve regulation: autoregulation/intrinsic response to a stimuli/change. Happens w cells tissues or organs for example: dilation of eyes or blood vessels. 2)extrinsic organs detect environmental change and send signals. Happens w nervous and endocrine glands ex; increased heart beat when running. Nervous system review: receptors finds stimulis, receives and precesses info, send out command, effector carries out the command (moving hand away from hot surface) Hypothalamus in brain carries out the temp change.
