Example join a music band to see their culture and how they play. Etic watch, collect info, stand back and watch. Why common sense is not the best way to follow. Common sense cannot tell us about the human mind and behaviour. Psychology as scientific- systematic observation, or study, objectivity; an approach to evidence. Scientific theory- explains a range of findings within the natural world: generate hypothesis that are tested. Confirmation bias: when you look at the world and find what we already thing. Find info that supports what we already know is true.
