Ob is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on behaviour within an organization. Contingency approach: considers behaviour within the context in which it occurs. At the individual level, we encounter employees who have different characteristics, and thus we consider how to better understand and make the most of these differences. Perhaps the greatest challenge individuals (and organizations) face is how to behave ethically. Characterized by uncertainty and anxiety: stage ii: storming, stage iii: norming. Characterized by close relationships and cohesiveness: stage iv: performing, stage v: adjourning. The stage when the group is fully functional. Characterized by concern with wrapping up activities rather than task performance for temporary groups. The first meeting sets the group"s direction. The first phase of group activity is one of inertia. A transition takes place at the end of the first phase, which occurs exactly when the group has used up half its allotted time.
