Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex: group of 4 mycobacteria, slender and rod shaped, slow growing (24 for new generation, high lipid content, m. bovis is a causative agent of tb. Found millions of years ago in soil and water paleolithic period. Then found in 100 ad in mediterranean and europe. Iclicker: infected every second, 35% of world population has tb, people with disease has 10% of falling ill, south-east asia has the highest number of cases.
