Euthyphro: what he is doing: prosecuting wrongdoers is holy/ failing to prosecute is unholy. Euthyphro: what is agreeable to the gods is holy, what is not agreeable to the gods is unholy. Socrates wants a list of criteria to decide what is morally right and wrong. Euthyphro: gods command if and only if it is right; god forbids if and only if it is wrong.
