In swrk history what were the two types of streams in response to urban poverty in. Solidarity working with led to settlement houses, community work, social justice. (introduced workers compensation, poverty linked to capitalism) missionary concern for strangers, outsiders led to charity organization society (cos) and social case work. Though tpeople were poor because they were unchurched. What are the three levels of practice in swrk. Explotation work/labour that benefits the dominant group, deepens inequality. Marginalization separating people into groups that leave them at a disadvantage base on sterotypes etc. Poverty is a result of their own actions (or lack of) Who are these people: jane addams, mary richmond, j. s. Jane addams seen to be the founder of settlement house movement (but janie barret was really the 1st one) Mary richmond founder of social casework and diagnosis. Work based on the medical model and the treatment based on client worker relationship. Conservative individuals are responsible for their own problems.
