If existing iv running, then iv is only good for 96 hours (the iv line, the continuous for 96 hours) If no label on the line it is considered to be expired: have to put it back up again, prime and label. Intermittent line (it is good for 24 hours: gets changed every single day. Include patient as much as we can in everything to we"re doing.
