Sauropods were later group of sauropodomorphs, really gigantic size, largest animals to ever walk on earth. Vertebrae of sauropods (especially cervical vertebrae) are filled with complex air sacks, helped reduce weight. Lacked chewing ability so had huge ribcages so they could hold digestive organs. Osteoderms of sauropods were less important for protection and more important as mineral reserves. Many were carnivorous with teeth: serrated, blade-like teeth. A lot of small theropods had covering of simple hair like feathers and some like microraptor had feathered wings. Microraptor was a glossy black (narrow melanosomes in same direction) Theropods had large caudofemoralis relative to other proportions of their bodies.
