All components of each region of the body are examined, such as the neck(cervical) region. Can be confusing since some regions overlap. All systems in the body such as the nervous system, digestive system, etc. Sagittal plane: runs through the length of the body and divides the body into left and right parts but not necessarily equal halves. Median plane (mid-sagittal): a special kind of sagittal plane that runs down the center of the body lengthwise and divides the body into left and right equal parts.
