Preventing accidents/injury: never leave an experiment unattended, keep sinks and bench top clean. Protecting yourself against accidents/injury: protective clothing safety goggles, footwear (closed shoes), lab coats. Treatment of injury: immediately rinse acids, alkali, or other chemicals splashed on the skin, cuts, abrasions or burns with tap water. Aim low, at the base of the fire. Sweep slowly and evenly across the base of the fire. Weight = mass x acceleration of gravity (vector) Weighing replicate samples of a solid: analytical weighing by difference, bring weighing beaker, 3 clean erlenmeyer flasks (250ml) and data sheet to analytical balance room, place weighing beaker on analytical balance and close the balance doors. Quantitative transfer of samples: transfer of a solid sample. If sample is a single large chunk (ex. If sample is a powder transfer by either using a paper or a boat, disk or beaker: transfer of a liquid or wet sample.
