Each lecture will begin with a menu. the menu will summarize the topics to be covered that day and give the associated pre-class readings, both for that day"s lecture and for upcoming lectures. As well, the menu will list any new handouts provided in class or posted to the course website. Finally, the menu will remind you of course related deadlines and other upcoming events. The slides and with notes versions are derived automatically from the same source les. But the content should be the same (except, of course, for the additional commentary provided in the with notes version). This being the rst class, we begin with introductions and a quick review of basic course mechanics. For details, refer to the course website and the course outline/syllabus.
