Document Summary

She goes on about how storytelling is so important. Science isn"t just knowledge, it"s relating facts to each other in a meaningful way, to predict what might happen next. The bible is like science; its facts are in the bible and a theologian must relate them together. In order to understand god"s will, we have to understand the relation of all of the truth"s he"s provided in the scripture. It"s almost like god wants us to discover these truths and relations for ourselves. There are 3 methods that have been applied to study theology: speculative, mystical. A priori (knowledge gained which is independent of experience assumed?) Types: deistic and rationalistic form: knowledge comes from nature or human mind only nothing supernatural, dogmatic: there is a supernatural essence to this, but it"s reduced to a philosophical system. Men lay down foundational truths (axioms) and then explain the scriptures based on them.
