Behaviourism: understanding behaviours of humans and animals, assumes all behaviours are reflexes produced by stimuli, or a consequence if personal (animal research & observation) People understanding the level of evil we are capable of. Positive eugenics: encouraged genetically fit people to have kids. Negative eugenics: prevented unfit people from having kids. The scientific method: science defined by methodology, the most reliable path to truth. Alhazen: knew we would be tempted to believe things that aren"t true, doubt everything. Scientific theory: tries to make sense of evidence regarding a particular phenomenon. Prediction: correlation between something now and something that will happen in the future. Operational definition: defines the construct in terms of procedures. Validity: does the data equal what you think it should. Reliability: if you repeat an experiment you would get the same result. Construct: real world phenomenon we want to study.
