Document Summary

Takes its name from a famous archaeological site in switzerland, with finds manly of cemeteries. Political geography of central and west europe chanced dramatically during. Processes and chronology are difficult to define. Over much of the western central hallstatt elute the rich burials ceased and the hill forts occupied by the aristocracy came to an end. In the case of the heueneburg region there was evidently a catastrophic fire. Meanwhile in a broad zone further to the north stretching from the marne valley to bohemia there developed in the course if the lt a period a warrior aristocracy. It was in this zone that the highly distinctive celtic art style developed. There was probably an overlap with the hallstatt period, between ~450-480. Possibly due to a civil war, along with other reasons. Around the marne is probably where the 1st lt cultural aspects appeared. Other major areas = moselle, and the bourges. Marne and moselle = where it emerged.
