Discrete variables: solid numbers (whole numbers: finite number of values between two points. Continuous variables: not neces. a whole number. Taking a quality and assigning a number to it. Numbers cant be treated numerically (numbers have no quantitative meaning) Has characteristics of nominal & ordinal but has precison. Ex. temperature (0 does not mean no temperature, but cold) Distance between values are assumed to b equal. Difference between 70 & 75 same as between 75 & 80.
