Interactional context: number of people, mediated context, type of communication; words, clips, roleplay; usually outside of face to face. Communication has evolved over time: telephones have become cell/smart phones, letters have become emails, textbooks have become e-books, maps have become gpss, etc. etc. Linear communication model: source message channel receiver. Interactive communication model: both persons are sources and receivers communicating through channels with noise, message and feedback. Transactional communication model*: majority of communication occurs here, 7 key elements. Transactional communication model: prevents messages from reaching receiver as intended, channel, a means of message transmission, like face to face or facebook or whatever. Theories: statements that describe, explain and predict events and behaviour.
