Nutrition: puzzle the food that nourishes us, before we digest it, is unlike us (it"s a plant not the same as we are). 2 kinds of perception (actually perceiving something and the power to perceive: actually perceiving second actuality, the power to perceive first actuality/second potentiality (the soul) Whether or not we perceive something isn"t within our control. Appearance: aristotle didn"t list appearance as one of the powers of the soul, but he distinguishes it from perception and understanding (it"s between the two) 2015-03-25: phantasia, imagination, & appearance, something can appear to me a certain way, and be different from how i perceive it and understand it, ex: the sun appears to be a foot wide, but it"s not really. The sun can appear to be a foot-wide even if we believe it"s not a foot-wide: appearance is a movement that follows perception, perceptions are always true, while appearances are usually false.
