Not all people live equally and there are variances in economic class: Highly developed countries (hdc) : low population growth, high income, (about 19% of world pop) Moderately developed countries (mdc): mexico, turkey medium income and population growth. Less developed country (ldc): access to education low, economies fragile, poverty (50% of world pop) Environment includes all other life. environmental issues is the study of the relationship between humans and the environment. Non-renewable resources: take thousands of years to develop like fossil fuels. Renewable: can for quickly like trees but this renewability is only a potential. Environmental ethics studies the relationship between human society and the environment. How our choices affect fellow human beings and organisms. Tragedy of the commons: when resources are free everyone will overuse. These free resources are call common-pool-resources and need stewardship to protect them. Consumption of natural resources is at the heart of environmental issues. People in hdc consume up to 12x more than those in ldc.
