Just means close to average of people"s health around you. Autonomy: the sense of being self-directed and independent: psychologically healthy people can direct themselves and act independently, social, emotional, and intellectual independence, these people are inner directed, opposite is other directed. Maslow"s hierarchy of needs: self-actualization (self-acceptance, self-esteem, love & belongingness, safety and security, physiological needs (food & water, shelter, etc. ) Trust vs. mistrust mother or other primary caregiver. In being fed and comforted, developing the trust that others will respond to your needs (consistency) In toilet training, locomotion, and exploration, learning self-control without losing the capacity for assertiveness. In playful taking and locomotion, developing a conscience (based on parental prohibitions) that is not too inhibiting. In school and playing with peers, learning the value of accomplishment and perseverance without feeling inadequate.
