Its not just human interaction, you interact and communicate through material objects: you can speak through computers, text trough computers without ever becoming face to face. The term actor network is in itself, the actor is always also a network. A metaphor for another way of looking at something, instead of looking at it through a sense or individually you look at it as a whole. Ex: tree needs grass, roots, leaves, stem, not just a tree has everything surrounding it that makes it up.
