Document Summary

A divine command theory of ethics is not an acceptable theory. There are things that are right and wrong, but they are not right and wrong because g-d says so. If g-d doesn"t exist, than everything is permitted > wrong. A divine command theory is not satisfactory. We live in a certain environment, but not everyone lives in the same one. For instance, one element of the environment that we live in is the climate. Not everyone lives in the same climate, however. The climate we live in determines, or greatly influences what we do. Environment effects all aspects of our lives, like lifestyles and food etc. We are not free to control the climate that we live in. An individual does not have the power to significantly change the environment over the course of their life time. In some places it is easier to live, because of the physical environment than in others.
