Distribution of wealth is relevant to normative questions about justice some theories of justice might make unrealistic assumptions about peoples capacity for altruism. Studying how things are explains how things should be which is needed for how they ought to be. Those who don"t participate in political decisions will have theirs made for them. State in nature" is a situation without government.
