In contrast, homer would agree with the statement, as to him the best life is one of an agathos. The good life is defined as living a just life in accordance to ones human nature. In this life, political institutions play a huge role, as they set up organizations in order to provide the good life. Soldier is defined by one who is the agathos of the region due to their dominance because they are a warrior. To plato, the best life is one of a philosopher because they achieve f1, known as understanding, and live a life of philosophy. It is their job to educate the polity and run it.
