A medical research team is interested in determining whether a new drug influences creatine kinase ( ck ), which is often measured in blood tests as an indicator of myocardial infarction in citizens of. Creatine kinase was measured in blood from each of the 60 patients, before randomly assigning half of the patients to receive the new drug for three (3) weeks, while the other half received a placebo. At the end of three weeks, ck was measured again to observe any change. Then, individuals who had previously received ck began receiving the placebo, while those who had previously received the placebo began receiving to the new drug. After another three (3) weeks, ck was measured again for each individual. The researchers compared changes in ck between the placebo and the new drug.
