Class Action Lawsuit against Uber$410 Million
Dominik Konjevic, the plaintiff in a class-action suit filed
by Sutts, Strosberg LLP on Thursday, alleges that Uber has diverted “millions of dollars
of revenue” away from the taxi and limo industry and asks for an injunction to shut down
the company’s operations in Ontario. The suit was filed on behalf of all taxi and limo
drivers, brokers and owners in the province.

legal tools available to force compliance with the law
o civil liability: individuals force compliance
if someone gets hurt, they can sue you (the government stays out of it)
o regulatory liability: government standards
requires more money from the government to set the law
o criminal liability: government enforcement
severely punished, police are hired to arrest you
