Inputs and outputs: any system will have an input, throughput, and an output, e. g. farm system inputs: seed, feed, sunlight, water, nutrients for soil, labor, fuel, etc, throughputs: weeding, milking cows, etc. Anything that is needed to maintain the farm: outputs: crops going out, energy being released, air/oxygen, labor leaving, money is generated by selling crops. Equilibrium: steady or static state equilibrium, when something is in a stable situation things can change, but will always go back to what it started as. When larger/old trees die, little trees will take over their place there is a stable system.
