This is the idea that for any specific entity there is a set of attributes which are necessary to its identity and function. This idea looks at how the biology of men and women drives their behavior. It is saying that sex is a natural force that exists prior to social life and shapes institutions. This is the social relationships that come from the common human experiences of mating, birth and nurturance. For euro-americans kinship is about the social regulation of biological facts. For many other cultures there is no legal documents saying they are the parents of child, so they have problems with immigration in certain countries because they are technically not related to the child. This is a form of exchange as a gift that is given without an explicit agreement, except that is does have moral obligations.
