Working in groups is a key part of being a community
member, and you will inevitably be in situations where
you will be required to consult with others and work
together to achieve a desired outcome. Take a minute
and think about how the above mentioned points might
relate to your role as a student in a typical course taught
in a classroom. You are a member of that learning team.
What role do/should you play in enhancing the success of
that learning? What happens when you do not take your
role seriously?
Our preferred modes of learning differ, and some of us
prefer group work more than others. Nevertheless,
unless one becomes a lifelong recluse, we all need to
learn to function effectively in groups.
