Document Summary

Centre of gravity can lie outside of the system (a donut"s cg is located in the empty centre) Difficult to find cg of a human because we move a lot and it"s hard to put someone on a fulcrum. If you suspend an object by a point the cg will be below that linetherefore you suspend the object twice (vertical and horizontal) then you can find the exact point. You place the body balanced on a board on a fulcrum (the cg will be located directly above the fulcrum) You need to be in the same posture. Similar to balancing but you use a scale and determine the cg from the distance (t=fd) Method used in the labs (digitized joint centres) Estimate the cg of the body from the cg (estimates) of individual segments.
