We all start as a single cell, then we end up with 10^14 cells. Right after fertilization, the cell that we are begins to divide, until you get around 128 cells. Those cells are all identical to the original cell. These cells, although they are the same, are omnipotent, or pluripotent. They are stem cells, which means they have no function but they can become anything: these stem cells then turn into highly specialized organ systems. To get to di erent organ types, our cells use di erentiation: signals in the embryo trigger cells to specialize. For our cells to talk to each other, they need a feedback system. Kidney is the main regulator of blood pressure. Homeostasis: same status, to maintain functions and internal environments, in response to changing conditions, so if our blood pressure drops, we need to bring it back up. If its cold, we need to get warm. chemical, cellular, tissue, organ, body, organism.
