Social psychology: is the study of how individuals think about (thoughts), relate to (feelings), and influence (behavior) one another based on the actual, imagined, and implied presence of other individuals. Scientific method: a technique for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, and/or correcting previous knowledge. The scientific method fulfills: collecting accurate and error free data, commitment to objectivity, and verifying information empirically. Social psychology therefore uses the same approach to evaluate hypotheses as other scientific fields such as biology, etc. Using the scientific method is crucial as it allows researchers to test whether our beliefs are actually correct. Hypothesis: a testable prediction about the conditions under which an event will occur. (educated guess). Factors in the social world influence how we think about ourselves. Self-presentation: how people work to convey certain images of themselves to others. How we think feel, and act in the social world and behavior, but also the impact of a persons perception of other.
