Austrian psychologist sigmund freud is arguably, one of the most contested figures in western thought. He was born in austria on may 6th 1856, and he studied at the university of vienna. He was bright as a child and excelled in all academic matters, and in his married life, he would have six children. He had an addiction to smoking cigars which inevitably lead to his death. Influenced by: charles darwin, friedrich nietzsche and gustave le bon. The father of psychoanalysis has greatly impacted the fields of literature, education, psychiatry, art and social thought. Sigmund freud is generally recognized as one of the most influential and authoritative thinkers of the twentieth century. There have been countless philosophers, scholars, educators and scientist before him who had explored the concept of the human mind before him, however, freud undoubtedly has contributed to the understanding of the human mind like nobody else.
