Public space: ellickson and mitchell hold different views on what public space is but both agree that public space is a space full of people . A relevant issue because the criminalization of homeless people (ie. vagrancy laws) stem from different political values. Safe streets act: an ontario law put into force in 2000, which made it illegal to solicit in an aggressive manner. For example, a person may not obstruct someone"s path, or public space for the purpose of solicitation. Thin skull rule: also known as the eggshell rule. The legal issue brought up is whether accused is responsible of all damages regardless of predispositions, in this case the victims susceptibility to cancer. Reasonable person test: an objective standard at which a person"s conduct can be measured, used in common law. Vaughn v. menlove introduced this concept, in deciding whether a man took reasonable caution in avoiding burning down his neighbours" cottage.
