The reason why people tend to work hard is that from an early age you are taught that a good profession leads to good income / benefits and stability. By working hard you will be able to rise up the employment ladder, room for raises, gain better status in society and afford luxuries along with being able to afford all the basic necessities of life (hilgendoff, 2014). On the other hand there are others who spend more than 30 hours a week trying to make ends meet. There are many individuals in society who have typical jobs as sales associates and cashier . these people strive and work hard in order to make enough profit which would enable them to afford food, shelter and clothing. These individuals are likely to be living in income poverty, what they make excludes medication costs, savings for children"s education and wants.
