The x-ray: in 1895, german physicist willhelm rontgen invented the x-ray. The development of the x-ray was continuously occurred throughout the 19th century. The discovery of the x-ray allowed the physicians to look inside the living body in special way than the lay people. Physicians didn"t have to physically touch the boy to examine the patients anymore but now allowed them to visually examine their patients. The use of x-ray increased, and additional development of the x-ray occurred in separate fields. Furthermore, the reaction of the public was interesting; many people were shocked and excited about the new x-ray inventions. Residential schools: the creation of residential school in the 19th century was intended to force the assimilation of the aboriginal people into european-canadian society. The attempt to force assimilation involved punishing children for speaking their own language or practicing their own faiths. The aboriginal students also were not allowed to even eat their traditional foods.
