Negativity is necessary in democracy and that there can"t be a democracy without it. In this democracy in particular, we have freedom of speech --> we can critic the government; without negativity this wouldn"t exist. It allows for more holes to be poked in a candidate"s argument the press is too focused on the horseracing of it all. The candidate"s negativity toward another allows them to directly address a situation they disagree with and talk about how and what they would change if they instead were given the position. An effective congress and effective members: what does it take? by. Responsiveness is that congress should pass laws that reflect the will of the people; responsibility is that congress should pass laws that deal promptly and effectively with pressing national problems. Only in a perfect world would what the majority wants always accord with what policy experts deem most likely to be effective.
