On the other hand, psychiatrists are licensed medical professionals that are allowed to prescribe medication. They also use psychotherapy to analyze behavior and mental processes. Experimental psychology uses research methods through experiments by developing a hypothesis, changing the independent variable, measuring the dependent variable, and creating control and experimental groups.
