Lecture 8: chronology: relative dating, chronometric (absolute) dating. Super imposition: older things are deeper in the ground. Stratigraphy: layers (strata) in the soil: mixing of deposits: cultural, burial dug through floor, fire pit dug into earlier deposit, mixing of deposits: natural, animals burrow, tree root, artifact styles, thompson and worsae.
