Heracles: the greek strongman: mother: alcmena/almena (look up, hera sent a pair of snakes to strangle him in his sleep, while he was a baby. Heracles strangles them instead: made into a god after his death, taught to hunt and fight by his stepfather. European man-eater lion: killed by heracles when he was 16, he cut off it"s skin and wore it. He went to a king to absolve his guilt before the gods, as a payment the king asked heracles to perform 12 labors: the 12 labors, the first was to skin and slay the nemean lion/lion of nemea. It"s hide was so thick that it couldn"t be pierced by any weapon. Heracles killed it with a club, and skinned it by using it"s own claws to rip off it"s skin: the second was to kill the hydra of lerna. The hydra was a nine headed serphant that would regrow any head that was cut off with two more.
