Social psychology (sp) is the scientific study of how individuals think and feel about, interact with, and influence each other, individually and in groups. Sp focuses on the individual within a given social situation it is studied on an interpersonal level. Sociology looks at larger group behavior and systems in society. Kurt lewin behavior is a function of situation & individual characteristics made a model for this idea: Social cognition our understanding of the situation or what we think is going on with the situation. These two things combined lead us to an evaluation of the situation. How we evaluate the situation affects the variable intention. Experimental research seeks clues to cause-effect relationships by manipulating one or more factors while controlling others. Correlational research studies the naturally occurring relationships among variables. A relationship between two or more are causally linked to changes in the dependent variables is explained value of the independent variable.
