Large land owners pretty much controlled everything. Industrial revolution, people no longer producing what they need for themselves but had to buy things. Consumer items were available to people that thy couldn"t afford before. What could they do about the problems created by these changes. Adam smith ( rst modern sociologist) economist and philosopher in the late 1700s, known for the wealth of nations , idea for free market economies with out any government interference laissez-faire economics. publish in april of 1776, mercantilism. 1754 war between great britain and french/ native americans, british eventually won gained control over canada, both countries went broke. John hancock wrote his name large so the king could read it without his glasses, his family became wealthy.
