The process requires curiosity and imagination, but also knowing the research rules and procedures that describe and explain why people behave the way they do. Researcher should be objective in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. Creates new knowledge that helps us understand social life. Secondary analysis of existing data: data collection that examine info collecting from someone else, advantages, accessible, learn from past. Experiments: controlled setting of test specific variables, advantages, manipulate data, replicability, disadvantages, artificial setting.
