A way to cut down on biases is to teach people how to make accurate appraisals, learning about the biases of social perception. Leadership: classic trait approach - identifying traits that characterize natural born leaders, certain stable characteristics are associated with successful leadership: cognitive ability, inner drive, motivation, expertise, creativity, self-confidence, integrity, and an open communication style. Transactional leadership: a leader who gains compliance and support from followers primarily through goal setting and the use of rewards. Transformational leadership: a leader who inspires followers to transcend their own needs in the interest of a common cause. Leader: the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. Ability / skills for "wearing different hats" Not truly testing what it set out to measure. Job applicant present in a positive light. Those who engage in the most self-promotion. Someone who is better at promoting themselves could easily get the job over someone who is better qualified.
