Intimacy involves sharing that can take place on two levels: sexual intimacy, psychic/emotional intimacy- engaging in self-disclosure. Committed lovers have fun together; they also share tedious times. Three components of love: passion: drives that lead to romance, physical attraction and sexual consummation, commitment: the decision to love someone and maintain that love. Three components develop at different times: passion is quickest to develop and quickest to fade. Intimacy develops more slowly: commitment develops gradually. Children learn one of three attachment styles: children. Divorce: ten years after wedding: 40% of women aged 18 or 19 on their wedding day, 24% of women aged 25.
