Democracy: a type of government in which everyone in the country is involved in making decisions. Pluralism: a condition or system in which two or more states, groups, principles, sources of authority, etc. coexist- theory of how a system works. Marketplace of ideas: the competition between varying opinions and ideas that are aired in public forums. Efficacy: the belief that you can influence the government. Apathy: lack of interest, or the belief you can"t influence government. Oligarchy: a small group of people having control of a country. Sovereignty: supreme power of authority- the authority of a state to govern itself over another state- a self-governing state. Apportionment: the determination of the proportional # of members each us state sends to house of representatives, based on population. Rule of law: the legal principle that the law should govern a nation.
