Before attending the concert, all i knew about sammy miller and the congregation was that they were a group that played jazz music, and i only became aware of the name of the band a month ago. I did not know what to expect from the concert, but i looked forward to the new experience. The concert turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The music was very enjoyable to listen to and included instrumentation from the piano, bass, tuba, drums, guitar, trumpet, trombone, and harmonica. Most of the pieces included a fast rhythm and tempo, making the songs have an upbeat affect. I noticed that i began to automatically tap to the tactus of the energetic music and move my head along to the melody.
