Document Summary

Julie annas - making sense of my life as a whole. We have some sorts of notion how we want our lives to go. Actions we perform = lives we end up living (aristotle) Aristotle"s actions: must be intentional (mean to do them, goal directed (purpose, aimed at good. Means we take to a certain end. Independent of what the object does (ex: locket) Education is intrinsically good but allows you to do more things (instrumentally) We should think about our lives as a pyramid because there"s a single final good. Not mountain range (multiple goals that have an end) we can obtain. Can"t make sense of life without a final end. Happiness = living, something you actively create. All about the experience not the end result. Complete = puts an end to desire. Stop doing one thing for the sake of another. Having everything a person needs to be happy.
