A harlot"s progress 1732, woman who becomes a prostitute and dies of disease, very popular. A rake"s progress 1735, wealthy young man who falls into alcoholism drugs and women, who ends his life in a mad house. Lot"s of hogarth"s work was stolen: congress passed the copyright law so artists" would not have their work stolen.
