The battle escalates when paris & hector return. Athena & apollo soon decide to end the battle for the day. Menelaus agrees, but agamemnon says no because he thinks he"ll lose. A lottery is held of the strongest achaean soldiers. The fight begins, but zeus sends heralds to end it because of nightfall. Both sides agree to take a day to bury their dead. King priam asks paris to give helen back to just end the war but he says no. Zeus & poseidon watch achaeans build fortifications planning to tear them down. Zeus prohibits other gods from interfering in the war, but weighs his options on who to help out. He showers achaean army with lightning & they retreat in fear. The achaeans start to fight back after praying to zeus & hera for help. Athena & hera go to help when greeks aren"t gaining back powers. Zeus sends iris to warn them both of the consequences of interfering.
